Sunday Snooze | April 5, 2020

I have been missing for a while because SURPRISE I had a baby! Also, this whole quarantine thing happened and life has just been insane. So now I’m locked in my house with 2 dogs and a one month old. I honestly can’t complain because I was already scheduled to be off of work and my husband can work from home.

So I decided to get back to blogging because it helps me stay sane!

2020 GOALS

I am finally caught up to my Goodreads Goal for the year. It turns out that 2 weeks in the hospital and quarantine are great for my reading.

Books I finished

I have finished quite a few since my last Sunday post, so I’ll just share this week’s completions.

I will do reviews for most of these, but The Duchess Deal was a reread, as was The Governess Game. Sometimes you just need some romance novels to make you feel better.

I finished the original Shatter Me books, including all of the novellas. Full reviews to come because I have some opinions.

Cruel Beauty was my favorite surprise! I fell in love with this book!

This Week’s Favorite Things

Video Chats – The ability to talk and see my family friends’ faces has been a huge asset during this time. I had my first baby and can’t have any family to help or be here. That is rough, but we are making it through using technology.

Coffee – This is how i’m staying awake. I wouldn’t make it without my coffee right now.

Magnetic Bookmarks – I don’t know why I didn’t have any before. I’m usually the person who throws a receipt or scrap of paper between pages. But these are changing my life and I can’t go back.

Sunday Snooze | February 16, 2020

It’s an extremely foggy day in Houston and i’m all in for it. I had a better week, but honestly, the back pain and kicking from the baby is REAL. I want to say a giant THANK YOU to all of you who have sent kind messages, it’s been much appreciated. That said, I am loving my reads this week!

2020 GOALS

I love what I’m reading, but I haven’t read a lot… EEK. I’m a bit behind so hopefully I can catch up on some things in the second half of the month. I also got an ARC of The Faithless Hawk, so i’m losing my mind with excitement!

Books I finished

This was a really dark read. If you are in the mood for high fantasy and little romance it may be perfect for you!

This Week’s Favorite Things

I have been trying to be more conscious of where I buy my products from. The “vote with your dollar” concept. In looking for cruelty free makeup and beauty products, Teagan told me to check out Leaping Bunny. They have an iphone app that will let you quickly look up brands that don’t do animal testing!

Secondly, my emo heart is so happy to link this gorgeous video. If you like the Phantom of the Opera movie then these vibes will get to you.

Last Week on the Blog

Reviews when up for Serpent & Dove and The Unwilling.

I posted about Fuckboys I Love and My Favorite Literary Romances.

Top Ten Tuesday | Fuckboys I Love

So it’s a freebie and I just have to talk about the jerkoff guys that I love. These may not still be fuckboys, but at some point all they cared about was playing around. Despite that, I just have to love them.

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Sunday Snooze | February 4, 2020

Yes, it’s Tuesday. Most definitely not a Sunday. But I am seriously running behind lately so this seems par for the course.

2020 GOALS

I really like making myself accountable to my goals every week. So far I have read 7 of my backlisted books, so I got to pre-order Chain of Gold!

That makes ONE book purchase for the month of January, so i’m very happy with myself.

Books I finished

I loved both of these amazing new releases!!! All the Stars and Teeth was the pirate adventure I have been waiting for, but Ink in the Blood just blew my ind with dark and twisty themes.

This Week’s Favorite Things

I can say naps right? Naps. Those are my favorite thing.

Actually, last weekend was my baby shower and I got tons of amazing baby books for the little guy. I’m so excited to start reading to him!

Last Week on the Blog

Last week was a lazy week, recovering from all of the socializing I had to do at the shower. So I got together a list of Books I Couldn’t Put Down and a review of The Hollow, which is a spooky sequel from Nora Roberts.

Sunday Snooze | January 19, 2020

What a crazy week! I finally read one of my most anticipated books from last year and wow. I was missing out. Sometimes hyped books are hyped for a reason! I’m excited to share some new stuff with you all this week as well as mailing out a bunch of stuff for Flapping Pages!

2020 GOALS

My goals are to get through my owned TBR and only buy 1 book per 5 owned I have read. So far, there have been no purchases. Not even a pre-order!

As far as reading goals… slowly chipping away.

Books I finished

I’m obsessed with this crew! Review to come.

This Week’s Favorite Things

I bought this t-shirt off of Blissfully Bookish and I cannot wait for it to come in! I liked Wicked Saints, but I’m so into this metal looking book tee. It will pair well with all of my combat boots and maybe now my giant maternity leggings lol.

Last Week on the Blog

I reviewed a YA historical horror book Blood Countess and The Bane Chronicles about everyone’s favorite Warlock.

This week I talked about my favorite ways to Break a Book Slump and went into how we look at book tags and why content creators aren’t getting the credit they deserve.
