I saw this awesome tag on Classy X Book Reviews and had to do it! I know we are trying to put 2020 in the rear view mirror, but I get to do one more list and then i’m done.
Rules
- Tag Amanda as the original creator
- Choose from either all the books you read in 2020 or only 2020 releases.
- Most importantly, have fun!
Best All Around: Your number one favorite book of the year.
I think I have to go with Lightbringer by Claire Legrand. I want to say House of Earth and Blood, but Lightbringer was the ending to a beautiful and painful story. Plus, it’s never leaving my brain. It’s taken up permanent residence.
Biggest Flirt: Newest or favorite book boyfriend of 2020.
I want to say Hawke from From Blood & Ash, but Amanda chose him so I am going to go with Matthew Fairchild from Chain of Gold.
Class Clown: Sillest/most goofy/funniest book of 2020.
Deacon from the Covenant and Titan series by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
Cutest Couple: Favorite bookish couple of the year.
I have to go with Poppy and Hawke from From Blood & Ash. They are just too funny.
Most Likely to Succeed: Most hyped book you read in 2020.
House of Earth and Blood, easy.
Best Celebrity Lookalike: Favorite book based off of another story (fairytale/mythological/classics, etc.)
This didn’t come out in 2020, but I read it in 2020. Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge is a mix of Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast. But with demons.
Best Dressed: Most appealing book cover of the year.
The new hardcovers of the ACOTAR series. I know. I said it.
Tallest & Shortest: Share the longest & the shortest books you read this year.
Shortest: According to goodreads, it was a Shea Serrano short about how silly Trump is. I make no apologies.
Longest: House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
Best Clique: Share your favorite friend squad you read about.
The Spirits from King of Fools. I LOVE THEM.
Most Likely to Survive the Hunger Games: Share the character(s) you read about this year that you think would do well in the world of the Hunger Games.
I’m going with the squad from A Conjuring of Light. I would definitely want Kell, Lilah, Rhy and Luc on my team. Cunning + magic + sheer force of will.
Best/Worst Plot Twist: What did you read that had a really great or really horrible plot twist?
Best: Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan
Worst: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Series: Best/worst second or concluding book in a series.
Best: King of Fools by Amanda Foody
Worst: Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Most likely to become a classic: What book has the potential to become a modern classic?
An American Marriage by Tayari Jones
