So I have decided to try doing away with my monthly wrap-ups in favor of a quick weekly update. I was competing with myself and they turned into just a list of all the stuff I did, which wasn’t a ton of fun. Instead, I’m going to share a little about my life and the books, music etc. that I am loving or hating at the moment.
Life Update
The weather in Houston is finally decent so we have been hiking and playing with the dogs outdoors a lot. i’m LOVING it. I also found some gluten free donut holes at the store and if this isn’t living then I don’t know what is.
I took my day off Friday and had my nails done, went to eat alone at a place I rarely get to go and went to the library. It was the best self-date/self-care day and I refuse to feel guilty about it. It was awesome and I suggest everyone do that every now and again because you deserve it!
What I’m Reading
Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames. I’ts hilarious, action-packed and so much fun to read. If you are unsure about adult fantasy this may be for you. I have laughed out loud so many times and it feels like a book with no rules.
What I Finished
The Naming by Alison Croggon. This is a YA, but is written like a traditional epic fantasy. Long journey, no romance so far and epic missions with the Chosen One. I enjoyed going back to a traditional fantasy as I haven’t read one in a while. Plus, Croggon is not afraid to point out reality like periods and how you have multiple if your journey takes a few months.
Beard Necessities by Penny Reid. The end of the Winston Brothers saga! I’m so sad, but I loved the ending. I read this in one day because i’m desperately attached to this family. If you are a romance lover then these are a must-read!
This Week’s Favorite Things
Highly Suspect released their 3rd album on the 1st and I basically played it on a loop all week. I’m obsessed and it’s a problem.
Last Week on the Blog
I did Spoiler free reviews of Find Me Their Bones and The Wife Between Us. They were both amazing books and I highly recommend.
I did a fun post on Book Crushes vs. Reality where I broke down popular fandoms and which person I crush on vs the person I would actually end up with.
My discussion this week was about Reasons I DNF a Book. I found that most of us don’t forever DNF, we just set things aside for later.
Sometimes you just gotta switch it up! Nice post. ✅

This is awesome .-) TBH- If the monthly wrap-ups weren´t working then that´s just the way it is. There´s no point continuing with something that doesn´t make you 100% happy, you know? Great Sunday theme title, too! Sunday Snooze is perfect. I agree- we all need a self-date day. I treat myself once in a while, too. For me, it´s Wednesdays, since that´s the day my mom picks the girls up from school and brings them before dinner ). You can bet that I won´t get out of my bathrobe or wear a bra that day ( unless I have to leave the house. I try to avoid that ). The Winston Brothers Saga! I´ve read those books and LOVED them. Kings of the Wyld? Gonna have to look that one up. Keep these posts up. xx

Thank you! I just didn’t like writing the monthly ones. It felt like a giant info dump instead of anything engaging. 🤷🏼♀️
Braless Wednesday needs to be a THING.
Look up Kong’s of the Wyld if you need a laugh. It’s pretty hilarious.
