Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
- Children of the Clouds – My mom read this book to us as children. It’s so old that the cover is falling off. It has been relegated to the LOOKS ONLY category.
- My grandmother’s bible – self-explanatory, family heirloom.
- Jane Eyre & Wuthering Heights illustrated 1943 editions.
- Kingdom of Ash – Signed by SJM
- City of Brass – Signed by S.A. Chakraborty – THANKS LORETTA!!!
- Vengeful – Signed by V.E. Schwab
- Any of my books that I haven’t read yet!
What books will you not let anyone touch? Let me know in the comments!

omg this topic makes me anxious/cringe just making me think about it! VERY protective of my books. These specifically, I have on a higher shelf so it’s harder to reach for guests hahaha

I never get mine back. One of my friends actually moved out of the country for two years, taking my book with him. When he came back, he returned it to the wrong apartment. I never saw my book again and he didn’t even read it first! That was the end of the book loaning.
I’ll give my books away to people I think will enjoy them if I’m not planning on reading them again. Other than that- hands off!

I totally understand that you don’t want to lend out your unread books! I’ve never been in the situation where someone asked me to, but I don’t think I would!

It’s hard to lend any of them. Especially the ones I haven’t even read!

Great list! I really need to cross The City of Brass off my TBR. I prefer not to lend out books I haven’t read yet, too.

Nice!! Yeah signed copies made my list too! I went so far as to pick out certain signed copies that would never ever leave the house! I basically never let people borrow my books but I still chose a collection that I would really really never allow others to even touch!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

I wouldn’t let anyone touch my books especially signed copies and the collector’s editions!

My husband is a NOTORIOUS book destroyer – I have about half a dozen new-ish ones that I refuse to let him touch, because he’s so violent with them. My copy of Tristram Shandy was returned with a bent cover – how does that even HAPPEN?

I don’t know what books I would choose if I were to answer this prompt… I am inclined to say all of them but that’s just silly and not special.
