Song Request Book Tag

songrequest

Time for another amazing tag. This one I LOVE because it’s always fun to share music I love. Thanks to Sara for the tag, because this is one of my favorites tags so far. It takes a bit of time (if you overthink like me), but it’s totally worth it!

Rules:

  • Thank and link back to tagger.
  • Credit to Daniel @ Page to Page
  • Listen to tagger’s song requests! After you’re done listening to the three songs the person who tagged you has chosen, choose a book that you think best goes along with that song and tell us why you chose it!
  • Request 3 songs of your own! Give any three songs (and your corresponding book choices that think go well with said song) you want for your taggers to listen and respond to!
  • Tag 5 people!

Sara’s Songs

“Bullet” by Steel Train

I don’t know how I haven’t heard this song before, but it’s currently on a loop in my head now. I love it. Maybe I’m partial, but I got so many Jemma vibes from this song.

I fell in love in the back seat of your car
The road was shorter than it looked
Like ten years and two more
And I held my girl closer than was safe
Take what you want from me
I’m not afraid to turn around
To see you by my side
We are the last generation of hope
And I wouldn’t mind if
Together we died alone

“King of My Heart” by Taylor Swift

From Lukov with Love – Jasmine is so insanely independent and can’t stand Ivan for most of the book, but when she begins to trust him he is pretty suddenly her entire world.

3. “Supercut” by Lorde

I get vibes from Up In the Treehouse by K.K. Allen. if you need a sweet, but intense romance that is the one. It deals with tragedies from high school and how they get past them.

My Songs

1.”Longshot” by Catfish and the Bottlemen

The Hating Game comes to mind. Those two were definitely a longshot, but I love them.

Listen, the distance between us, could’ve took a while
Once we closed that difference, you turned up like a friend of mine
Every once in a while, the little things make me smile
As if one of our longshots paid off
One of our longshots paid off

2. “Here’s to the Heartache” by Nothing More

This song belongs to my queen Aelin Galathynius and her gorgeous consort.

What if I told you life was built to break?
What if I warned you, you can’t outrun your fate?

So here’s to the heartache
Here’s to the mistakes
We’ll drink to all the years, the tears
That led to this place
So here’s to the heartache

Here’s to the dark days
It’s been a long wait
We’ll drink to all the years, the tears
That led to this place

3. “Lydia” by Highly Suspect

This song is dedicated to the Darkling and Alina… because it has a twist.

Black ocean, cold and dark
I am the hungry shark, fast and merciless

I’ve seen better days
So unafraid in my youth
I can’t breathe, much less believe the truth

My muscles will contract, your bones will crack
It’s just a fact cause I am here to win this fight

My lucky friends who get to do this too!

Dev – queen of the song to book matching

Siobhan – My other dark soul

Loretta – The magician of gifs and FO profiles

Kaleena – Goddess of spreadsheets and information

Luana – Thrower of porcupines and A+ buddy reader

  1. I’m so glad you did this tag and that you loved Bullet! It’s one of my favorite Jack Antonoff songs!

I have From Lukov With Love on my TBR and I think I really need to read it soon if it fits with King of My Heart. Up in the Treehouse also sounds like something I’d like. ❤️
