Alright, we all know the drill. It’s time to get rid of some of the junk on our TBR lists!
The Down the TBR meme was created by Lia (Lost in a Story) and is helping all of us to cut down on out TBR hoarding!
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 or 10 books (or even more if you’re feeling motivated enough). And of course, if you’re doing this weekly you’ll start where you left off the week before.
- Read the synopses of the books.
- Decide: keep it or toss it!
Coraline by Neil Gaimen
This feels almost like a classic, but to be perfectly honest, I don’t think that I will love it. I didn’t love reading Lemony Snicket as much as the movies and I feel like this is in the same vein.
The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin
Every time I look at this book I get hearts in my eyes. Not only is it pretty, but knowing the date of your death? Totally up my alley.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night by Mark Haddon
I have read too many glowing reviews of this to remove it. It has to stay.
The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
I loved The Prisoner of Heaven and need to get this one bumped up in the timeline.
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
So I may be making a weird decision, but is it okay to not want to read a book about a 13 year old? I have a hard time believing that I will connect with this story. Please tell me if i’m wrong because I like the idea of it.
Looking for Alaska by John Green
This has amazing ratings and I trust you guys.
The Crossing by Cormac McCarthy
I love everything this man writes. It stays.
Girl at War by Sara Novic
This book sounds so incredibly intense. Croatia and war and secrets? I’m in.
Love You More by Lisa Gardner
It sounds really interesting, missing child and murdered husband and all, but i’m not really into detective type books lately.
Graceling by Kristin Cashore
This series has been recommended to me countless times and has awesome reviews. I’ll keep it for the next time I need a fantasy and a romance!
