Pairs Well With:
This book was the longest roller coaster I have ever been on. I just needed to know if Rafe and Lia were going to figure this thing out. They were so strong and then their countries got in the way. Stupid responsibilities always messing up my love stories.
Rafe made me angry more than happy and I was pretty disappointed in him for a while. Rafe, we love you, how could you treat us this way? But, he pulls it together and takes his head out of his ass. Mary sure knows how to break and unbreak our hearts.
Sings Unbreak My Heart on repeat.
I got a serious case of “will they or won’t they?” while reading this. I honestly wasn’t sure how the war was going to go or why on earth Rafe didn’t seem concerned about the army about to march across and kill thousands of people. He was preoccupied with pulling a Tambitch and trying to keep Lia under lock and key.
I’m still not sure how I feel about the Kaden storyline. We saw it coming a mile away, but I’m not convinced he should have that ending…
This was a really long book and while I love this world and had an amazing time with the characters, the war got crammed in there at the end. I feel like there was a ton of build up for it to end so abruptly.
I love this series and would suggest it to anyone who likes YA or Fantasy.
