Hello, Book Friends!
Hope your weekends are going splendidly. Today we’re doing The Lady Janie’s Book Tag thanks to our dear pal Lexie @ Reading By Starlight. We haven’t read this series yet but we’ve heard great things and loved doing this tag!
The Lady Janies Book Tag was created by Rebecca over at Bookishly Rebecca & Ellyn of Allonsythornraxx and it was created to co-inside with the release of the Lady Jane books by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows and Brodi Ashton.
Rules:

Questions:
Jane Lynch: A favorite book featuring a character on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum:
Teagan – The Mortal Instruments due to Magnus and Alec. Magnus is one of my absolute favorite characters and I love him and Alec so much.
Jess – Ronan Lynch. Ronan speaks to my dark and twisty soul and I LOVE him. He makes me like Adam aka Matt Donavan more.
Lady Jane Grey: A short book that packed a punch:
Jess – Heart of Darkness almost killed my soul.
Teagan – The Pearl by John Steinbeck. It’s been over a decade and I’m still not okay due to this book.
Jane Austen: Favorite heroine in a classic book:
Jess – I love Catherine in Wuthering Heights because she is such a terrible person and unapologetic about it.
Teagan – Does To Kill a Mockingbird count as a classic? Cuz I adore Scout.
Jane Eyre: Your favorite retelling:
Teagan – Uprooted by Naomi Novik. I love love loveeed this book. It was complex and so enjoyable!
Calamity Jane: Your most anticipated release:
KINGDOM OF ASH. THIS BOOK IS GOING TO DESTROY US. RIP TEAGAN AND JESS.
Jane Fonda: A character who upholds feminist ideals:
Jess – Mor from ACOTAR. Mor said fuck you to the patriarchy and now she is #2 in charge of their asses.
Teagan – Buffy the Vampire Slayer will always be my feminist queen. She’ll always be an asskicking queen and defender.
Jane Krakowski: An underrated book you wish more people would read:
Jess – More people should read Under Different Stars by Amy Bartol. The Kricket series is one of my favorites out there and I insist you read it.
Teagan – Everyone should read Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa. I will fangirl about this book to my grave. Laura is brutal and amazing. DES ❤ ❤ ❤
The Lady Janies: Two or more authors you wish would write a book together:
Jess – Jaymin Eve and Kelly St Clare. I don’t think I would be able to breathe if they wrote a book together because I would be laughing too hard.
Teagan – Kelly St. Clare and Laura Thalassa. I think the book boyfriend these two would give me might just ruin me for good. I have major heart eyes even thinking about it! Plus their worldbuilding and plots are always on point.

UPROOTED! YAY! I really enjoyed that, but I loved Spinning Silver more. In general, Naomi Novik’s an amazing writer. ♥

Loved your tag girls! I was racking my brain for a truly epic character with feminist ideas and I totally forgot about Mor – she’s such a bad ass and a true feminist.

Omg you must read the next Rhapsodic book, it’s so good! The final book comes out later this year and I’m stoked. I loved Pestilence as well! We are reading her Unearthly series, it’s a little more YA but good, too!
