Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
Top Ten Tuesday: Books to Pull you out of a Reading Slump
This week’s topic is books to pull you of a reading slump and we’ve got some of our favorites on here!
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. This is our go-to reread because Feysand can pull anyone out of a slump!
Moonlight Sins by Jennifer Armentrout. This book has the perfect amount of romance, mystery and hilarity. Lucien is the best!
One for the Money by Janet Evonavich. Stephanie Plum novels are fun and goofy with just the right kind of mystery. Plus, her gang and their antics are too funny!
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. This is one our favorites from the TOG series because of the fabulous relationships between Aelin, Rowan, Aedion and Lysandra! Plus, the start of Manorian!
A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet. We will forever read this book. At 80 you’ll find us still fangirling over Griffin who never fails to pulls out of a slump!
Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa. This book was a pleasant surprise and a great go-to with a feisty siren and sexy faerie.
Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. Books from your childhood are like a great big bear hug and this one never fails to bring me happiness.
The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata. This romance is hilarious and the characters crack me up!
Trickery by Jaymin Eve & Jane Washington. Even if you aren’t into RHs, you should give this first book a try. Willa and her antics are so funny that you can’t stay in a book slump. And the first book is relatively PG-13.
The Rap Yearbook by Shea Serrano. Apparently this is the greatest book ever written…but really we just couldn’t think of a number 10.
Have you read any of these? What books pull you out of reading slumps? Let us know what you thought in the comments!
