Top Ten Tuesday | Books You’d Mash Together

Book Tag Header (8)

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

The rules are simple:

  • Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
  • Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
  • Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
  • Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

Books you’d Mash Together

This week’s topic is “Books You’d Mash Together.” So here we go with some hopefully great mashups!

Forever Violet & Gone Girl Forever Violet was a little too sweet and cheesy for my tasted. What if Lake just went crazy Amy in the middle and framed Jules for everything? Lake was not a bright girl and it would be fun if she was faking that the whole time and was really an evil genius.

To Kill a Kingdom & Six of Crows – I *need* Elian and Kaz’s crews to meet and get up to crazy shenanigans. I want to picture the crews on a ship with rum screaming “No mourners, no funerals” and singing other pirate tunes. And just think of the trouble Nina and Lira could get into, guys! I’d be guarding my heart but chain eating my popcorn watching this all go down.

Everless & Spinning Silver – Both of these books are all about the money. But what if Myriam could get rid of all of those nasty blood coins and just get everyone gold? I think we would be much happier if the world in Everless was dealing with actual money. Plus it would be an easier read than Spinning Silver.

The Selection & Bring Me Their Hearts We love The Selection but wouldn’t Zera’s witty banter and brutality as she schemed for Maxton’s heart be fun to watch? Yeah, we still want America to get the rose at the end but Zera could make her work for it in a way that’s hilarious to watch.

City of Bones & A Court of Mist and Fury – Alright, I want Cassian and Jace to meet and be the sexy bromance we all need. I would watch them fight evil all day every day for the witty banter and excellent views 😉  And Izzy and Mor need to be BFFLs right? Magnus would meet his rival in Rhys’ plotting and Azriel and Alec could be silent and broody together. I’d love to see the Night Court continue their fight against evil demons and we already know Rhys loves tattoos so they’d make perfect Shadowhunters.

What books would you mash together? Let us know in the comments!

  1. I loved your mash-ups! This is the third blog in a row where Six of Crows has been used. Haha. I’m going to have to randomly pick another blog to see if I can get four for four.

  2. Hahahahahaha what a great list!! I’d kind of like to mash together Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, purely to see Jane’s reaction to Catherine’s dramatics – I feel like she’d have NO time for it, and she’d shut down the ridiculous love affairs and spooky stuff quick smart 😂😂
