We are so happy to have been tagged by Catherine @ This One For the Books for the Cliche Book tag. We couldn’t love her blog anymore and highly recommend you check out her amazing posts because sometimes there’s cookie recipes and who doesn’t LOVE cookies?! Jess and I are dividing and conquering posts this week so all answers are from me, Teagan, on this one! Enjoy!
Actions Speak Louder Than Words
A Book That Wasn’t Or Couldn’t Be Better Than The Movie
I rarely enjoy a movie more than a book but every now and then there’s a standout. Most of the time its due to the charm the actors bring or the amazing magic a soundtrack adds to the story. For me, The Princess Bride film adaption surpasses its book counterpart. The actors and script nailed it. To be fair, I did watch the movie before I read the book so I may be biased.
The Grass Is Always Greener On The Other Side
A Rags To Riches Or Riches To Rags Story
Ah, I couldn’t possibly choose just one for this so here are a few of my favorite (and guilty pleasure) rags to riches stories.
The Apple Does Not Fall Far From The Tree
A Parent Child Relationship That You Love
I adore the relationship the Weasley siblings (plus Harry!) in have with Molly and Arthur in the Harry Potter series. Except you, Percy. Ungrateful little rat (yeah yeah yeah, I know he gets better at the end but still). Also, can’t not appreciate Atticus Finch and his A+ relationship with Scout and Jem.
You Can’t Judge A Book By It’s Cover
A Great Book That Needs A Better Cover
I love the Tairen Souls series but for years I avoided it because the cover made me cringe. Sure, it came out in 2007 because the era of #CoverPorn really started but still it just doesn’t reel you in.
You Can’t Please Everyone
A Book You Hate That Everyone Loves
I will never understand what it is about Midnight Blue that everyone seems to love. I love a good romance and who doesn’t love rockstars? I’ve enjoyed other novels by Shen, but this book just felt like a train wreck to me and I could not find it in myself to love either of the main characters. If you loved this book please enlighten me because I feel like I read a completely different book than everyone else!
What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger
What’s A Book That Made You A Better Person For Having Read It
Admittedly, I have primarily read only YA fantasy/science fiction and fantasy romance novels so my choice here might not be as cultured or socially aware but Handmaid’s Tale helped spark important conversations regarding society and gender politics which have helped me grow as a human.
Ignorance Is Bliss
A Book That Is Bad But You Just Don’t Want To Admit It
I am choosing Twilight for 16 year old Teagan who adored these books and is not ashamed to say she was a total fan- girl. Adult Teagan recognizes the issues inherent in the series but it will always have a place in my heart.
There Is No Time Like The Present
What Is Your Favourite Contemporary Book?
I adore this book, guys. I’m sure there are haters out there but I love Cam and Avery so much. If I could marry a fictional character (besides Rhys) I would marry Cam. I relate to this book so hard and love the entire series. Armentrout doesn’t disappoint.
Better Safe Than Sorry
A Book You Don’t Want To Read In Case It’s Bad
I’m cheating on this one because I can’t think of a major series I’m avoiding. But what I do do is refuse to finish series because I’m just afraid of the terrible things that will happen. These are some of the series I just can’t bring myself to finish.
Tag Your It!
There’s no pressure to do this tag (the busyness struggle is real, guys) but if you do please tag us! We’d love to read your answers.
Do you agree or disagree with any of my choices? What are your opinions, I would love to know!

I like your picks!
Princess Bride is perfection. And I don’t think I can possibly read the book. And everyone has been hounding me over Red Rising. I definitely need to get into that series.
Have you watched the Handmaid’s Tale TV show?

Ugh, no. I tried the first episode but it’s too real now. I can’t exist in 2018 when that kind of future could happen and watch that show, you know? And the show is so visceral!

I know what you mean. I may take the plunge and read the book though. The second season is worse. Oh my God, the first ten minutes of the season premiere made me ball.

Yeah I don’t need that in my life!!! Hard pass. But you should try Red Rising if you are into more science fiction stuff. Its like Hunger Games + Star Wars + Greek Mythology + Ender’s Game. If you can get past the first six chapters your good to go and its a great but brutal series!

Yasss, I’m a huge fantasy reader, but I’m drifting into sci-fi. You’re making me want to buy it now.

Thank you for doing the tag!! I loved getting to know you better through it 😊 I feel the same way about the Weasley’s and Harry, and Atticus and his kids! Also, I’m nervous to read the Raven Boys series for fear that it won’t live up to the hype, BUT I’m gonna do it soon!! 👏

I am conflicted on which version of the princess bride is better, as they both have their pros and cons 😀 I also love Atticus’ relationship with his children, one of the best literary dads ever!
